Complete Core, Naked Warrior (Pilates-based)

Yup, that’s the name of this class, Complete Core, Naked Warrior, or CCNW for short.  I’m relieved to hear we don’t actually get naked.  This core conditioning class has a Pilates mat influence and relies on body weight strengthening exercises.  OK, so naked mean no weights used.  Thank heavens!

What Does This KB Workout Have To Do With Salsa?

This was today's killer kettlebell workout with Robert Budd at Phyzyks. My first time using 2 kettlebells - the double clean. Robert makes is look so easy. We practiced the movement over & over until we could do it...without killing ourselves! I still don't know how he comes up with these names. What the heck does this workout have to do with Salsa??

Tactical Flexibility – Yoga for the Athlete

Neal Warren has just joined the Phyzyks team and is offering a class called Tactical Flexibility, a perfect complement to their kettlebell and posture-based classes.  It’s not like any other yoga class I’ve taken.  It’s clearly based on traditional hatha-yoga poses, but by using safe isometric holds we are promised to build strength, endurance & flexibility.

Kettlebells Done Right

I’ve wanted to get back into kettlebells for some time now.  But, frankly, I was afraid I would get injured.  I’m a few years older – and have a few more aches & pains – since the last time I seriously worked out with kettlebells.  Working out with KBs can be the best workout you’ve ever had & get you more fit than you’ve ever been – if done right.  It can also be a disaster
